Dear Editor,
The Friends of the Dr. Eugene Clark Library want to thank all who supported our annual book sale. Whether donating books, buying books, advertising the event or volunteering at the sale, our community came out to help the Friends of the Library raise money. These funds help pay for library activities such as the summer reading program, preschool story hour, adult craft night, BookPage magazine, Books for Babies, Dia De Los Ninos, A Christmas to Remember in Lockhart and more. A big thank you to the young men at Pegasus School for helping to box the books and putting the Clark building back in order. And, of course, this annual event wouldn’t be possible without the support from Library Director Bertha Martinez and the hardworking library staff.
For many customers the sale was a treasure hunt searching for the perfect book and each child was able to pick out a free book. For others, it was their first time to visit the library, especially the historic Clark building.
Our library offers the community so much: mobile wifi’s to check out, fax and copy services, computer classes, digital collections, tax aide services, GED and language classes, author events, Medicare help, book clubs and more. Now is the perfect time to escape the heat and explore all the Dr. Eugene Clark Library has to offer.
Sincerely,
The Friends of the Dr. Eugene Clark Library
